Consumer Guarantees

Products sold through SlowMoose include automatic guarantees that operate independently of store or manufacturer warranties.

What the guarantees cover

Goods must be of acceptable quality, match their description, be fit for any disclosed purpose and meet any extra promises made about them. Other guarantees can apply, including rights to title and undisturbed possession.

When there is a major problem

A problem may be major when a reasonable consumer would not have bought the product if they had known about it, the product is substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot easily be fixed, it is unsafe, or it differs significantly from its description or sample. In qualifying cases, the customer can generally choose a refund or replacement.

When the problem is not major

The supplier can generally choose to provide a free repair within a reasonable time. If the problem cannot be fixed or is not fixed within a reasonable time, further remedies may be available.

When a remedy may not apply

Consumer guarantee remedies generally do not apply merely because a customer changed their mind, found a lower price elsewhere, misused the product, or was told about the specific fault before purchase. A different undisclosed problem may still be covered.

How to make a claim

Contact SlowMoose first and provide proof of purchase and a clear description of the issue. A business may reasonably assess a product before providing a remedy. For independent guidance, visit the ACCC consumer rights and guarantees guide.
